Join to apply for the Mid Grade Pharmacist role at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the mid grade pharmacist team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. This part-time post is part of our mid-grade pharmacists’ programme, which includes support to develop a specialist clinical role as well as core senior pharmacist skills including prescribing, education, quality improvement, and leadership.
At ward level, as part of the Admissions team, you will work closely with consultants and ward-based staff, providing pharmaceutical expertise to ensure the safety of patients. You will be responsible for helping to mentor both foundation pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacists, and will be given opportunities to gain experience in all levels of clinical service, education and training, leadership, and operational coordination of a team.
Applicants must have a postgraduate clinical certificate or equivalent clinical experience by the start date (latest January 2025), and will be supported to undertake a prescribing qualification if they do not already hold one.
Providing specialist clinical pharmacy support to the Admissions team, operational leadership to a designated ward-based pharmacy team, and supporting our foundation pharmacist-led weekend clinical service, this job would suit a pharmacist with excellent clinical knowledge, who is keen to develop their leadership qualities.
Further clinical and quality improvement skills will also be required in aiding the senior pharmacist team to develop and implement new services and processes.
Come and join the innovative South Devon Pharmacy Partnership Mid Grade Pharmacist Programme and work with a fantastic pharmacy team.
As a vital part of our integrated care organisation, the Torbay and South Devon medicines optimisation teams have jointly committed to developing a pharmacy workforce that is prepared to meet the needs of our whole healthcare community.
You will be based in our friendly and well-respected hospital pharmacy team, working closely with and learning from multidisciplinary colleagues and patients in secondary, intermediate, and primary care and mental health.
Your clinical practice will be supported and enhanced by a team of experienced medicines optimisation technicians and assistants.
