Linen Assistant
An exciting opportunity to join The Hull University Teaching Hospital’s NHS Trust’s Linen Service.
Post 37.5 hrs. Full Time. Permanent contract.
7.5 hrs. per day over 5 days per week. Monday to Friday
The linen team provides a comprehensive linen service to wards and departments along with supporting staff with uniform orders and a sewing service.
The successful applicant must be an enthusiastic team player and would ideally have previous experience of working in a busy linen service. A flexible approach to work and the ability to work in a team is essential along with the ability to adapt with fluctuating demands.
Good communication and IT skills are essential for this role.
This role will involve working at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Pick and pack linen in line with top up requirements on to linen exchange trolleys and cages for delivery
• To be able to work unsupervised on occasions when needed.
• Ensure the linen room is kept clean and tidy at all times and remaining linen is stored correctly, in line with infection control requirements, to prevent any hazards within the work place.
• Record levels of linen delivered to wards and departments using the electronic Absolute recording software.
• On a daily basis clean and disinfect the linen exchange trolleys and record that this has been completed.
• Assist in the uniform fitting service and offer advice to staff who are trying on the sizing garments.
• Delivering linen to wards and departments as required.
• Take part in ward and department linen audits where appropriate.
• To carry out any other reasonable tasks required on the instruction of the line manager appropriate to job role.
