My client, the UK's leading charity for children with neurological injury, is seeking experienced Building Services Maintenance engineers to join the team in helping them maintain and repair multiple buildings on site.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will report directly to the Senior Engineer.
They are seeking a qualified and highly experienced engineer to join the team in supporting maintenance services 7 days a week across multiple sites.
The post holder would need to be capable of performing a wide range of tasks across various trades including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, plastering, tiling, and drainage.
You will need to be able to prioritize your workload and work efficiently to complete assigned tasks to a high standard and quality and to prepare materials, tools, and equipment for efficient use throughout the day. Problem-solving skills are crucial in this role as the trust is moving away from a high level of dependency on contractors. Identifying and resolving issues in-house is one of the key purposes of the role along with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and planned inspections/tests.
You will be expected to use our CAFM software to receive, raise, and complete work orders.
Responsibilities:
* Inspect, fault find, and repair buildings and services.
* Adapt to changing work environments and urgent requests.
* Perform planned preventative maintenance.
* Complete tests and inspections.
* Review and develop policies and procedures.
* Manage fixed oxygen systems.
* Use CAFM system for job management.
* Follow plans and specifications for safe work completion.
* Determine and procure necessary materials and tools.
* Communicate updates and manage disruptions.
* Supervise subcontractors as needed.
* Support Project Manager on in-house projects.
* Complete condition reports.
* Undertake general estate duties (e.g., gritting, litter picking).
Skills and Requirements:
* Ensure timely completion of H&S compliance tasks.
* Proficient in using CAFM systems.
* Participate in on-call duties for out-of-hours support.
Applicants would need to have a trade qualification (or experience over a number of years in a multitude of trades).
Full driving licence.
Experienced in using CAFM.
Experienced in FM/Building services.
COSHH Trained.
Asbestos awareness.
Fire alarm testing.
Knowledge of H&S regulations.
Experience in reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
Working a 37.5 hour week between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00 plus weekends 1 in 4 - 08:00 - 16:00.
Salary 38.5k + benefits.
