Job Title: Forge Technician

We are seeking a Forge Technician for a unique and challenging role based in the heart of Birmingham. Our client, a global leader in metal supply, is expanding their team following a period of sustained growth and success.
This is a unique opportunity to join a leading global brand in UK manufacturing, with a role that combines maintenance and operational duties on a heavy press machine.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain a bespoke heavy press machine, with knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Manufacture raw materials, monitor machine output, and identify production issues.
Monitor and control machine performance and settings.
Move materials using forklift trucks, cranes, and slinging systems as required.
Always maintain a clean and safe workplace.
Support and contribute to the area's lean assessment process using continuous improvement tools and techniques.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities to maintain and improve 6S standards and auditing systems.
Ideal Candidate:
Background in maintenance engineering.
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.

Additional Responsibilities for Forge Technician:
Fault finding on control panels of an automated forgings press.
Operating a bespoke machine called a Rumx, ensuring optimum output.
Maintaining Rumx, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical mechanisms.
Maintain and repair PLC systems.
Check machine output and identify issues.
Hours of Work:
Continental shift pattern: 4 on 4 off.
Shifts: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm / 7:00 pm - 7:00 am.
Salary:
Starting at £37,470 per annum, plus £1,225 shift allowance per month.
