Project Manager - A428 Highways Improvement Scheme (Groundworks & Civil Works Focus)

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual to lead the successful delivery of the groundworks and civil works phases for the A428 Highways Improvement Scheme. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the community, contributing to a major infrastructure project that will improve connectivity and boost economic growth.
About the Role:
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and delivery of both the groundworks and civil works components of this significant highways improvement scheme. This will involve:
1. Leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
2. Developing and implementing detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules specifically tailored to both groundworks and civil works phases.
3. Proactively managing risks and issues, ensuring successful project delivery within agreed timelines and budget.
4. Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices for both groundworks and civil works operations.
5. Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including local businesses and government agencies.
6. Communicating effectively with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
About You:
1. Proven experience as a Project Manager on large-scale highways or infrastructure projects with a strong emphasis on both groundworks and civil works.
2. Demonstrated expertise in groundworks operations, including excavation, utilities installation, and site preparation.
3. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, including road construction, drainage systems, and pavement design.
4. Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
8. Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
9. A relevant degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
10. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. APM, ICE) is desirable.
