Business Services Senior
The successful candidate will be a newly or nearly qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA or ACA) looking to develop their career in a friendly and hardworking business. They will help our Accounts and Business Services team deliver accounting and advisory services to owner-managed businesses across Scotland.
Consilium Chartered Accountants is a Scottish firm of accountants providing Accounting, Audit, Corporate Finance, Tax, Payroll and Cloud Accounting services to owner-managed businesses. In February 2025, we joined the Dains Group as we strive to become the leading SME advisory business in Scotland.
This is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent and hybrid working pattern role. The successful applicant will be based in our Glasgow city centre office, with work-from-home options.

Functions of the Business Services Senior
The Senior will add value to the Consilium team by:
* Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies;
* Preparing Corporation Tax and Business Tax computations;
* Undertaking ad-hoc bookkeeping duties using Accounting software;
* Preparing Management Accounts for clients and reporting in the required format;
* Preparing and reviewing client VAT returns;
* Taking responsibility for their workload and multi-tasking in an organised manner;
* Meeting clients and developing good relationships while demonstrating professionalism;
* Understanding the full range of services Consilium and the Dains Group offer and identifying areas that clients could benefit from; and
* Helping others within the wider team and mentoring junior members of staff, including reviewing their work.
Key skills and qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
* CA / ACCA / ACA qualified or nearly qualified with relevant Practice experience;
* Demonstrable experience in preparing statutory accounts under FRS102 and FRS105;
* Good working knowledge of Sage, Xero and Microsoft 365 including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint;
* Strong written and spoken English;
* Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team;
* Attention to detail;
* Helpful attitude;
* Good time management and ability to work to deadlines; and
* Working knowledge of CCH is desirable, but not essential.
