Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Blackpool Council, Childrens Safeguarding Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
The responsibilities will include:
1. To support the Team Manager in the effective and efficient running of the team bringing added value through experience.
2. Ensure that children and young people are safeguarded and protected from harm, and positive outcomes are promoted through timely intervention.
3. To work collaboratively with partner agencies, children, young people and their families to assess their needs and plan and deliver services in accordance with Blackpool Children Services policies and procedures.
4. To support the implementation of the Accreditation and Assessment Criteria as proposed by the Department for Education Knowledge and Skills Statement.
5. Carry a complex caseload.
6. To coach and mentor less experienced staff including Family Workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers undertaking their Assisted Year Supported Employment.
7. To support the Team Manager, Senior Managers and Principal Social Worker with Continuous Professional Development and promote a learning environment that encourages learning and utilises evidence-informed practice.
8. To work within current legislation as well as the procedural framework of Blackpool Council Children’s Services.
9. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
10. 3 month Temporary Contract.
11. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
