Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher of Humanities to join one of our schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated Humanities lessons to students with special educational needs (SEN). The role involves creating an inclusive learning environment that supports the individual needs of students and promotes their academic and social development. The SEN Teacher will work closely with the SENCO, support staff, and other teaching staff to ensure that students with SEN receive the best possible education.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering High-Quality Lessons: Plan, teach, and assess Humanities lessons (History, Geography, and Religious Education) in a way that meets the needs of students with SEN.
Differentiation: Adapt and differentiate teaching materials, resources, and activities to ensure they are accessible to all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Develop, implement, and review IEPs in collaboration with the SENCO and other colleagues to ensure that students’ learning needs are met effectively.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and track the progress of SEN students, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their academic goals.
Collaboration: Work closely with teaching assistants and other support staff to provide tailored support to SEN students both inside and outside the classroom.
