We are currently seeking an individual to join this team in the role of Pensions Specialist.
The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert, supporting the UK Head of Pensions and Benefits on activities that support the implementation of the UK Pension and Benefits strategy as well as supporting the design, development, management, implementation, maintenance and communication of pension policies and practices.
In this role, you will be responsible for::
:
Reviewing pension policies and processes as well as identifying whether any updates need to be made to align with legal changes or market trends or to ensure compliance with pensions legislation.

Identifying, mitigating and monitoring the Defined Contribution risks and non:financial Defined Benefit risks associated with the UK Employee Pension Scheme.

Liaising with the Payroll and Finance teams on the accurate processing of pension contributions.
:
Working with the UK Trustee and its Pension Scheme Executive team, and with other internal HSBC teams who oversee Pension Risk, Pension Strategy, Group:wide Pensions and technology developments on a variety of matters.

Supporting appointments to the UK pension Trustee Board and their fee arrangements.

Collaborating with country HR teams on the management of smaller pension schemes outside of the UK.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements::

Demonstrable experience of working within a large corporate or consultancy and acting as a subject matter expert in the delivery of pensions.
:
An excellent working knowledge of pension legislation and practice.
:
A strong understanding of a) the operational and governance aspects of DB pension schemes, and ideally familiarity with the key elements of DB pension investment; and b) the defined contribution pension provision, particularly the DC contribution and investment process and the end:to:end member journey.

Strong numerical, analytical, project management, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
:
The ability and enthusiasm to manage multiple priorities in a fast:paced environment.

Demonstrable experience of proactively solving problems, independently and collaboratively, implementing solutions that are future fit.
:
Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to employees, members and stakeholders.

Experience of managing vendors, and ideally international pension arrangements.
The base location for this role will be Birmingham and with a hybrid working pattern.
