Position Available: Head of Department – Maths and Engineering
Windsor Forest College Group is looking for a Head of Department for Maths and Engineering to join the Strodes and Windsor College team on a full-time basis.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate for Head of Department: Maths and Engineering will be responsible for:
1. Leading curriculum development, innovation, and coordination within the Maths and Engineering curriculum areas.
2. Improving student retention and achievement by promoting best practices in teaching and learning.
3. Teaching up to 13.5 hours per week in a relevant subject.
4. Managing and developing the curriculum team.
5. Implementing the Teaching, Learning & Assessment Framework to improve learner outcomes.
6. Promoting high expectations for staff and students.
7. Ensuring the effective use of individualized learning schemes and resources.
8. Identifying and supporting underperforming students.
9. Continuously improving the quality of teaching and assessment.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
1. A degree or equivalent qualification, and a recognized teaching qualification.
2. Demonstrated successful experience in running courses, motivating learners, and achieving high levels of student retention and achievement.
3. An understanding of the learning environment.
4. Experience in setting targets and monitoring progress.
5. The ability to effectively lead and motivate others.
