Moa is recruiting for a Paralegal specialist in IP Law (part time, flexible).

To this aim, we have assembled a team of passionate and talented scientists, technical, and operational staff, who respectively design, use, and support the use of disruptive technologies that are reinventing herbicide discovery to deliver a new generation of sustainable crop protection products.

Time and location: Part time – 2-3 days a week, with a view to rising to 4-5 days a week in 12 months’ time as our company continues to grow. Flexible working arrangements are available, with a minimum of one day a fortnight on-site in Oxford.
You must be able to legally live and work in the UK.
Role purpose: The role will be responsible primarily for helping Moa protect its valuable intellectual property, but also supporting the formation of commercial partnerships with other companies, including large multinational businesses. You will liaise with external law firms to draft, coordinate, and administer a wide variety of legal agreements including contracts, licenses, and other IP-related documents. You may also work with business leaders to help draft guidelines and policies, and prepare reports and agendas.
Skills and attributes required:
* Ability to draft, review, and administer contracts and other legal documents.
* Ability to handle work on tight time frames and perform tasks that require accuracy and strong organisational skills.
* Must have strong problem-solving and time management skills, excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and thorough follow-up.
* Must have taken ownership of projects and show initiative and commitment to drive matters to completion.
* Must be a team player who can multi-task and work well under pressure with constantly changing priorities, and is happy to help colleagues.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills.
* Good diary management (i.e., arranging meetings, conference calls, etc.).
Experience and qualifications required:
* Experience working as a corporate paralegal in the UK with experience of IP law.
* Experience drafting contracts, NDAs, CDAs, MSAs, MTAs, SOWs, etc.
* Law degree or alternative legal qualification.
* Experience working in a comparable role is desirable.
* Experience in a biotech setting is desirable but not essential.
