Essential Requirements: Experience supporting students with SEMH/SEND needs
A specialist SEN school in the Uttoxeter area is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students receive tailored support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role:
* Support students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges, both one-to-one and in small groups.
* Assist in delivering individualised learning plans to promote engagement and personal development.
* Build strong relationships with students, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and essential life skills.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to create a structured and supportive learning environment.
* Encourage positive behaviour and implement strategies to de-escalate challenging situations.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural difficulties (preferred but not essential).
* A patient, compassionate, and understanding approach to working with young learners.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work as part of a dedicated and supportive team.
* A resilient and proactive mindset, with the ability to adapt to students' individual needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
