Description
To provide and communicate relevant and timely management information in order to facilitate improved performance and financial control to support appropriate financial decisions. Provides support to all financial aspects of Aurorium.
Job Details

* Compliance:
* To understand the MAPP and Safety and Environment Management Systems.
* To comply with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and arrangements.
* To inspect before use, and use correctly, the plant equipment, machinery and personal protective equipment provided.
* To report all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly.
* To act in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
* Not to use any new equipment, or carry out any modification or change of process or system of work, without first ensuring that adequate assessment and authorisation has been carried out.
* To only undertake work for which you have been appropriately trained.
* In the event of an abnormal situation or emergency, to carry out necessary actions to ensure safety.
* Role specific responsibilities:
* To ensure all processes abide by company policy and Sarbanes Oxley standards.
Technical:
* To lead the timely production of financial results by ensuring timely and accurate entry of financial information.
* To manage own time to meet month priorities aligned to business goals.
* To provide and suggest areas of process improvement.
* Ensure management accounting approach and preparation of reconciliations is consistent across European entities.
* Treasury management and cash forecasting for any given entity.
* Working with local management accountants to ensure AR factoring process is effective.
* Ensure month end close timetable is met.
* Completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
* Ensure intercompany accounts are agreed monthly.
* Ensure Bank reconciliations are done monthly.
* Ensure accruals and repayments are understood.
* Ensure all VAT and Intrastat returns are accurately prepared and filed on time.
* Working with the Financial Accountant for the annual audit.
* Supporting the completion of the annual operating plan (AOP) for all European sites.
* As part of the European finance team, support the development of systems and processes.
* Manage the workload and development of management accounting team.
* Provide ad-hoc support to the European Finance team.
* To undertake other duties as may be required.
Business Improvement:
* Active participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
* Participation in problem solving.
* To take responsibility for own learning and development.
* To assist in the training and mentoring of other team members.
* To manage own time to meet month priorities.
* Education & Qualifications:
* Qualified accountant CIMA (or other CCAB qualification).
* Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience preferably in industry/manufacturing.
* Previous experience of managing direct reports is essential.
* Experience in a shared services type of environment is essential.
* Experience in a similar manufacturing company, with chemical industry experience preferred.
* Knowledge & Skills:
* SAP FI/SD/MM competence. MS Dynamics an advantage.
* Advanced Excel skills (V-lookups/Pivot Tables).
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Ability to organise work effectively.
