Are you passionate about food services? We are a successful, vibrant, and welcoming primary school in Torquay, currently seeking to appoint a dedicated Catering Assistant. This role allows you to contribute to our catering, ensuring that our school remains food hygiene safe and a healthy environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
About the Role: As a member of our team, you will take on key responsibilities. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety in their workday and is committed to maintaining high standards in food preparation.
Responsibilities: To work 4 hours per day - Monday to Friday 38 weeks per year - term time only from 11:00am.
• Meal Preparation : Supporting the catering team with food preparation tasks, ensuring ingredients and meals are ready efficiently and to high standards with care and consideration for listed allergies and intolerances.
• Lunch Service : Collaborating with the catering team during lunch to facilitate seamless and efficient meal service, ensuring a positive dining experience for all.
What we’re looking for:
• Experience: Previous experience in a similar catering role is desirable, though not essential as full training will be given - a strong commitment to learning and excellence is essential.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a dedication to maintaining high standards in catering.
• Reliability: Punctuality and dependability are crucial, as this role is essential to the daily operation of our school.
• Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Positive Attitude: A can-do attitude and a strong work ethic are key to thriving in this role.
