Job summary
We are offering a 12-month fixed-term opportunity for ST4+ level candidates to participate in an RCP programme as the Chief Registrar for Medicine. Candidates will undertake dual training in general internal medicine (GIM) and another specialty, with experience in leading an acute unselected medical take and/or participating in the acute medical take at ESHT.
There are 2 posts, one based at Eastbourne and the other at Conquest. The scope includes a variety of medical specialties such as Cardiology, Stroke, Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, etc.
Main duties of the job
The Chief Registrar role is focused on healthcare leadership and management development, targeting senior trainees nearing the completion of their training. Responsibilities include quality improvement, education, and contributing to local service re-design and workforce transformation. The Chief Registrar will be a member of the Chief Medical Officer's leadership team, working closely with Clinical Directors and reporting regularly to the Chief Executive.

Person Specification
Qualifications/training (Essential)
* Full GMC registration
* Hold a national training number and enrolled in a medical specialty training program, ideally including GIM
* Within 24 months of receiving CCT on the start date
* Not holding a CCT or within 6 months of completion on the start date
* Discussed the role with educational supervisor and received approval from training program director
* Evidence of satisfactory progress through training, including ARCP outcomes
Desirable
* Additional degree (intercalated, master's, or doctorate)
