About The Role
This role will be based at our Pump Sales and Manufacturing site in Chandlers Ford.
To complement our teams and to continually drive quality through the manufacturing process we are inviting applications for the position of Production Electrician, to be based at our Pump Sales and Manufacturing site in Chandlers Ford.
As Production Electrician you’ll be responsible for building and testing pump assemblies and will carry out electrical duties in line with our Production Programme.
Main Responsibilities:
Activities for the Production Electrician will be wide ranging and varied. Day to day responsibilities include:
Building Chassis Assemblies from designated kits to defined build numbers and specifications, being mindful of costs, timescales and Quality levels. Specific tasks include:
* Fitting Pump End and Engine or Motor to Chassis, fitting coupling and lining up assembly using shims, if necessary to ensure correct level.
* Fitting Fuel Lines, Battery Assembly, Half Guards, Lifting Frame and other ancillary items as necessary.
* Filling Engine to correct grade and quantity of Oil, Antifreeze etc. in line with Specification.
* Ensure that all nuts, bolts etc. are tightened to correct torque settings.
* Carry out a full operational test of the completed unit on ‘pond’ for pre-determined runtime to include Suction test, carry over test and checking for oil, fuel and water leaks.
* Dressing Pump End, applying stickers, labels etc. and rating plates and finish completed assembly to designated Standard, prior to completion of Production Data Card ready for final inspection.
Carry out Electrical Wiring to Various Pump Assemblies as required. This includes:
* Connection of Engine Looms, Control Panels and Safety Devices.
* Suitable Earth Bonding and Connection of Safety Devices.
* Assembly and connection of electrical accessories/devices that may be required i.e. Auto Stop/Start Kits or Telemetry.
* Connection/disconnection of single and three phase mains supply to Electric Motors.
As Production Electrician, you’ll work directly with the Production Team. Teamwork is very important; you will need to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with your team to get the job done. A positive attitude and integrity will be equally essential.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
* IEE 18th Edition Qualification.
* ECS Gold card or have the relevant qualifications in electrical installations to obtain an ECS Gold card.
* Must have an understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
* Able to work with others as part of a team.
* Self-Motivated and able to work on own initiative.
Preferred:
* Time served Electrical Apprenticeship including Mains and Auto-Electrician knowledge.
* Able to work with others as part of a team.
* Use of overhead cranes and hoists to recognised safety standards.
