Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new position at our state-of-the-art Longbridge manufacturing site. You will work as a Product Quality Engineer at the site with support from the wider Quality team based at Wilmslow and across the globe.
Your focus will be to drive product improvements throughout product life cycle management, improving yields and development of design for manufacture to improve on-site and in-sourcing activities.
You will support the QMS (corrective and preventative actions) along with internal, external and supplier audits and shape development of product quality by highlighting improvement activities.
Responsibilities
* Represent Quality Engineering through product lifecycle management to help ensure product manufacturability, reliability and cost effectiveness.
* Support activities related to the QMS including documentation, CAPA, NCRs, MRB, deviations, change control and validation along with site training as appropriate.
* Perform quality inspection of parts and be involved in supplier, internal and external audits.
* Attend regular communication with cross-functional teams to identify root cause of problems and create plans for short term and long-term remediation.
* Represent supplier quality for new product development activities, support supplier performance assessment process and prioritise actions to address adverse trends.
* Support customer queries and collaborate with Longbridge and other sites to resolve.
Qualifications
Education: A qualification in an Engineering / Science subject or relevant experience in an Engineering / Science related function.
Experience:
* Proven knowledge of ISO 9001.
* Lead Auditor qualified preferred but must have experience and/or qualifications for supplier audits and internal audit.
* Manufacturing process knowledge and hands on with product.
* Demonstrated practical approach towards problem solving.
* Good understanding of supplier quality.
* Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
Competencies:
* Good written and oral communication skills are required, for example to ensure succinct report generation, effective communication with staff, peer groups, etc across the organisation.
* Must be able to work independently and communicate with all levels of the organisation.
* Computer literate - knowledge of Word, Powerpoint and Excel an advantage - in order to produce reports, analyse data etc effectively.
Travel: Travel will be required to the Wilmslow (Cheshire, UK) site and to support Supplier visits and audits.
