Summary
The IT Manager role offers the opportunity to lead, shape and develop the IT function at BNW. The role will provide in-house 1st, 2nd and 3rd line IT Support, handling all aspects of IT Infrastructure support including implementation, support, fault resolution and monitoring. You will provide Desktop support to our staff either face-to-face or using remote diagnosis. You will be the first and main point of contact for the IT Support function across our group of companies.
This role is based from our head office in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire where we offer a hybrid working environment.
Duties
End User Technical Support
Offer onsite and remote technical support for all users of computing and IT systems at Brave New World and associated companies, including identification, diagnosis, rectification, and escalation of issues.
Hardware Setup and Maintenance
Setup and maintenance of laptops, desktops, mobile phones, printers, scanners.
Application Installation, Troubleshooting and Application Support
Install, reinstall, troubleshoot, and reconfigure Operating systems and applications on laptops, desktops and mobile phones, covering Microsoft Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS.
Install and support various locally-installed and cloud-based applications, providing assistance for queries, escalations, problem determination, and resolution.
Provide cloud-based application support and user onboarding including all apps on Microsoft 365.
Incident Management
Investigation, diagnosis and escalation of IT incidents.
Update tickets with the latest status and resolution methods, and resolve assigned tickets by engaging directly with users.
Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries including ownership, feedback, allocation and follow up.
Configuration Management & Security Patching
Configuration and maintenance of appropriate IT services & infrastructure run in a corporate environment such as DNS, DHCP, Email, Web services, network monitoring, databases, IP telephony, IP addressing, etc. Security vulnerability management / patching.
Personal Development
Ability to adopt an understanding of and support new and emerging technologies which may become part of the service offering. Pro-active attitude towards learning new technical/non-technical skills.
Facilities
Assist with technical and physical aspects of Facilities, e.g. UPS testing and maintenance, access control, emergency lighting testing, cabling, desk moves etc.
Skills
3-5 years of experience working in an I.T. environment including experience of 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support
Minimum Level 4 I.T. Apprenticeship completed or
Computing qualifications, e.g. Microsoft Certified Professional, CompTIA A+ and Network+, etc.
Experience of working with the following:
* Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft 365 user administration
* Active Directory or Azure AD
* PowerShell
* Microsoft/Office 365 administration, including Teams and SharePoint
* Microsoft Intune (desirable)
* Ability to communicate with internal customers
* Works well in teams and is able to work with a wide variety of people
* Pro-active attitude towards learning new technical/non-technical skills
* Methodical and disciplined in approach to IT tasks – strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
* Experience of using service management ticket based systems
* Good documentation skills
