Job Description Senior Director, Head of Business Development Our Destination “Computing the future of medicine” We are integrating the latest advances in computing and artificial intelligence to develop life-transforming RNA interference (RNAi) medicines. We combine cutting-edge computation and AI with RNAi to make better medicines faster. Our unique approach enables us to differentiate, de-risk, and rapidly deploy our enabling platforms (HepNet™ and GalOmic™) and therapies, improving upon traditional approaches to drug discovery. Our rapid and reproducible process has produced a broad therapeutic pipeline of multiple GalOmic™ RNAi therapies targeting novel genes that have demonstrated disease-modifying potential in preclinical disease models. We are advancing our pipeline towards the clinic, with our most advanced asset (ETX-312, for the treatment of MASH) currently undergoing IND-enabling studies, the final stage of preclinical development. Your Adventure This position offers an amazing opportunity to focus on the pursuit of strategic business development, partnerships, alliances and licensing agreements that fit within the overall company strategy, business plan and pipeline portfolio. Reporting into Chief Business & Operating Officer, you will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to develop, drive and deliver the Business Development Strategy at ETX. The position is based in our office in Paddington, London, UK or remotely in the East Coast of the USA. What you will do Expand and further develop the dialogue with potential partners and lead out-reach efforts surrounding the company’s pipeline and enabling platforms Propose and negotiate creative, equitable deal structures as needed to maximise retained value Drive the commercial positioning in external forums and support IR efforts and messaging around our equity story Assess commercial opportunity in therapeutic areas and indications of interest by taking responsibility for the diligence and competitive analysis of new projects to inform in-house RNAi pipeline strategy, supported by the wider team and proprietary AI tools Map industry activity and stay abreast of the news and trends in relevant areas, including computational drug discovery, applied AI and RNAi Work closely with R&D teams. Make commercial suggestions and keep up to date with internal scientific progress and how it might address potential partner needs Interface with AI and informatics team to leverage advances and suggest new use cases Effectively manage alliances, build rapport with partners and work closely with our R&D and finance teams Develop bespoke pitch materials tailored to target audiences Explore other opportunities for non-dilutive funding Line manage CI/BD Analysts Skills & qualifications Essential: 8 years of experience in BD positions within the life sciences industry Highly analytical and outstanding attention to detail A self-starter who brings a meaningful deal sheet and successful career history within the biotechnology sector, particularly around out-licensing, strategic collaborations and platform deals First-hand experience of assessing opportunities and negotiating R&D deals, in addition to being comfortable in both R&D and commercial environments A sound understanding of the competitive landscape A strong network of contacts and relationships with key decision-makers in pharma companies A strategic thinker with a results-orientated mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality work under pressure to meet tight deadline Excellent communication and EQ, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation Strong financial acumen, with the ability to carry out valuation analyses Keen to contribute beyond the job description Nice to have: Postgraduate scientific education in life sciences or a related discipline Our culture & values Our success starts & ends with our team – the passionate, curious and collaborative individuals who work here.
