Job Description New Lead Manufacturing Engineer Job in Eastbourne A leading engineering firm is seeking a dynamic Lead Manufacturing Engineer to drive the Manufacturing Engineering function within its PCA production zone in Eastbourne, UK. This pivotal role will ensure the seamless introduction of new products, aligning with business and customer expectations for quality, on-time delivery, safety, and cost. As a key member of the team, the Lead Manufacturing Engineer will focus on promoting Design for Manufacturing (DFM) techniques for the next generation of products and ensuring a smooth transition from design to production. The role requires expertise in cost estimation, process standardization, and continuous improvement within the printed circuit assembly domain. Key Responsibilities for the Lead Manufacturing Engineer Job in Eastbourne: Lead the successful transition of new products from design to manufacturing, promoting DFM principles. Estimate and manage product costs, ensuring cost targets are met. Oversee engineering change management in the PCA zone. Develop and maintain SOPs for new products and ensure process handovers to operational teams. Coordinate prototype builds and pre-production batches for NPI projects. Support the Operations team with continuous improvement initiatives, KPIs, and 8D investigations. Benchmark industry standards and lead process improvements in PCA manufacturing. Manage SAP BOM and routing, ensuring cost simulations and process accuracy. Qualifications for the Lead Manufacturing Engineer Job in Eastbourne: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years' experience in PCA operations and NPI roles, with a strong understanding of DFMEA and PFMEA. Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and printed circuit assemblies (surface mount and conventional components). Strong project management skills and the ability to mentor teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
