I am seeking experienced and resilient QTS teachers to join our team as tutors, supporting students unable to access traditional school settings. In this role, you will work with children and young adults in their homes, libraries, or community centres, re-engaging them with education. Our pupils face various challenges, from behavioural issues to anxiety or disabilities, requiring personalised, engaging learning sessions. Building trust, setting clear goals, and fostering motivation are key to success. Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to the pupil's specific needs. Tutoring involves working in a home setting; this may be the family home or a residential setting for looked after children (LAC). You will be working 1:1 with students from various backgrounds and differentiating needs; students' ages can range from key stage 1 to further education.
* Ability to read and analyse EHCP, plan accordingly, and assess the pupil's progress.
* Plan lesson plans and activities for tutoring; ensuring the curriculum is covered sufficiently.
* Confidently write weekly reports and a personalised learning plan for the pupil to track progress and development.
* Monitor the pupil's progress and adapt strategies as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals involved in the pupil's care to provide a holistic support system.
* A creative and versatile teaching style with Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), Subject Specialism or extensive tuition experience supporting with English, Maths and/or Science.
* Experience, knowledge, and understanding of working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH).
* Experience, knowledge, and understanding of working with disengaged young people or looked after children.
* An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to acquire one.
