Title: NHS Talking Therapies Volunteer Location: NHS Warrington Talking Therapies, 20 Dallam Lane, Ribban Court, Warrington, WA2 7NG Reporting to: Volunteer Lead About us Mental Health Matters (MHM) is a national charity with over 40 years of experience in delivering high-quality mental health and social care services. We provide services across England, from Northumberland to Plymouth, led by a highly motivated and enthusiastic workforce who are committed to delivering the best quality services to those in need of support. Everything about MHM is people focused, our people are central to delivering the highest quality of service and care to our people accessing our services. You will volunteer in NHS Warrington Talking Therapies (WTT), Warrington's local Talking Therapies service. WTT is Warrington's primary source of support for addressing common mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression. About the role As a volunteer, you will provide a welcoming and friendly environment for the people accessing our services. There will be a broad range of duties and opportunities open to you, including: Helping to setup and co-facilitate wellbeing-focussed activities and groups alongside one of our clinical practitioners. Our group sessions include CBT-based approaches to mental health problems. Supporting out Talking Therapies Employment Advisors to deliver the employment support intervention. Supporting our administrative team, providing valuable assistance while gaining insight into the day-to-day operations of our service. The option to participate in monthly service (Team Forum) meetings, giving you the opportunity to contribute and learn about the service, NHS Talking Therapies and our impact. Support our `Your Voice Matters' forum, a space where the local community can contribute towards and inform the development of the service. The opportunity to participate in community outreach and promotional activity, such as attending events and representing the service. This is an excellent opportunity to challenge stigma and to promote mental health support and wellbeing in the local community. The opportunity to offer feedback and suggestions from your unique perspective as a volunteer within an NHS Talking Therapies service. About you This is a perfect role for anyone passionate about health and social care. We're looking for someone who shares our organisation's values and who wants to make a positive impact. You will be passionate about helping people and empathetic towards others. We encourage volunteers to commit to a minimum of one hour per week during our group workshops and courses. This commitment ensures that our volunteers, staff and people accessing our services all gain the full benefit of the opportunity, allowing for consistent engagement and meaningful contributions. An Enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS check will be required for this role. All volunteers must be 18 or older. Our commitment to you Training and development will be provided for you in your capacity as a volunteer, along with specific training in your area of interest. Although no experience is necessary, we ask that you are reliable, punctual and have excellent communication skills and are ready to take your next step in supporting others. You will receive support throughout your time with us from your Volunteer Mentor. This position is ideal for anyone with a keen interest in mental health support and is particularly interested in NHS Talking Therapies approach to treatment.
