Job Description
What is the opportunity? You will be a Product Controller in the London Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) Structured Rates Product Control team. What will you do?
1. To provide an effective link between Front Office (FO) & other stakeholders within the wider Finance team, bringing specialist product knowledge into the arena, so that any disagreements in daily P+L are resolved on a timely basis & ultimate P+L agreement with FO is achieved, evidenced & logged.
2. Daily production of p&l and decomp reporting to the front office traders, includes an analytical review of the risk-based decomposition, comparison of trader flash versus actual and other end of day reports.
3. To ensure integrity of the banks books and records, including reconciliation to banks ledger systems, attestation of the books and records each month end.
4. To ensure the wider Product Control team and stakeholders are immediately aware of revaluation issues that may affect downstream activity.
5. Production of analytical reporting to the business and Finance team, in addition to ad-hoc reporting as required by Front Office & senior management.
6. Involvement in key change management projects to deliver improvements to our daily processes.
7. To ensure PC remains & is seen to be an independent control function.
8. To support and provide training to the junior members of the team.
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
9. Strong vanilla options, structured interest rates and note issuance product and revaluation skills.
10. Competent accountancy skills; preferably fully qualified CIMMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent / similar.
11. Excellent numerical skills with the ability to problem solve in a logical manner.
12. Excellent communication skills especially with Front Office members.
13. Capable of working to tight deadlines & under severe time pressure.
14. Effective in allocating priorities.
Nice-to-have
15. University Degree or similar / equivalent.
16. Accounting Qualification, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar / equivalent.
