Job summary We are look for a highly experienced clinical psychologist to support the leadership of psychological therapies in the Community Mental Health Teams in Southampton. In this role, you will provide senior psychology input to Central Community Mental Health Team, which is based in College Keep in Southampton. The Community Mental Health Teams in Southampton work with adults with a range of severe mental health difficulties. All three teams are friendly and receptive to psychology input. The community transformation agenda means that this is an exciting time to work in community mental health, and there are many opportunities to influence strategy and service development. In this role, you will provide management, supervision, consultation, training, and service development. Additionally, around half your time will be dedicated to clinical work. You will join a psychology service with a wealth of clinical expertise including CBT, DBT, CAT, and EMDR. We are committed to supervision, CPD, and staff wellbeing. We support flexible working. We regularly take clinical psychology doctoral trainees on placement, as well as hosting research-active clinical psychologists in the service. Main duties of the job You will join two other Principal Clinical Psychologists in providing management, professional leadership, and supervision for psychological professionals working within the Community Mental Health Teams. You will provide senior psychology input to Central Community Mental Health Team and contribute to service development. You will manage several psychologists and psychological therapists. You will also contribute to supervision of psychological professionals within your scope of expertise. Within Central team, you will work closely with the Team Manager, Team Leads, and other senior clinicians, to ensure psychology is a valued and effective part of the Multidisciplinary Team. You will bring a psychological perspective to discussions about service development, transformation, and staff wellbeing, as they relate to Central team. You will work clinically in Central team through direct client contact, as well as through supervision, consultation, reflective practice, and training for team colleagues. Support will be available for the right candidate to develop their leadership and clinical skills. This may include coaching, mentoring, leadership training, or training in specific clinical skills, according to your needs and service priorities. You will be based at College Keep, Southampton and will be managed by the Lead for Community Psychological Therapies who is also based at College Keep.
