JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood has an opportunity for an experienced Lead Cost Engineer to join our team in Sunbury on a PSC contract. In this role, you will utilise your external stakeholder management skills to provide a world-class execute contract service. Previous QS experience would be very valuable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understanding and managing control budgets (reviewing technical base estimates and assumptions)
2. Supporting the change management process (budget transfer process)
3. Understanding execute contract packages and remuneration strategy
4. Working collaboratively with contractors on the monthly cost management process, including reporting into the project WBS
5. Supporting the variation control process and management, working in collaboration with the contract administration team
6. Participating in the payment certificate verification process, working with CAM and Contract Admin
7. Facilitating monthly MPR for cost management within the respective PDU (monthly cost report update)
8. Establishing trend processes within the respective PDU, identifying key cost risk drivers to cost forecast
9. Understanding and analysing progress measurement systems, working in collaboration with PCM, Planning, and QS teams
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Degree or HNC / HND preferred, ideally in an engineering discipline or where strong cost and commercial skills are included
2. A proven cost engineering experience within Petrochemical or similar industries
3. Proactive approach
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
5. A pro-active approach to solving problems and getting the job done
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Self-motivated, energetic and tenacious
8. Proven numerical, analytical and literacy skills.
9. Willing to share information and develop junior staff
