Purchasing Administrator - Near Maldon - up to £32,000 per annum - Full-time, Permanent
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Administrator to join our client, a family run manufacturing company. This exciting opportunity will see you work closely with the General Manager, ensuring the efficient management of parts inventory and procurement operations. The Purchaser will be responsible for purchasing, cost optimisation, and supplier negotiations, all while ensuring a smooth flow of processes and services within the company. This is a hands-on role where you will work with production management and other departments to meet the manufacturing and customer fulfilment goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the purchasing process, constantly seeking alternatives to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
2. Provide regular cost reporting to the management team.
3. Ensure inventory levels are maintained to meet production requirements and manage ordering of new stock.
4. Oversee booking-in and inspection processes, ensuring quality standards are adhered to throughout.
5. Provide support and advice to customers as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
1. A strong background in manufacturing or production environments, with solid knowledge of procurement practices.
2. Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
3. Ability to prioritise tasks and meet set targets, while working effectively under pressure.
4. Strong understanding of how procurement and supply chain decisions impact production and customer order fulfilment.
5. Excellent communication skills, able to work with teams across departments and liaise with customers as required.
6. Full UK Driving Licence (Essential): You must have a clean driving licence.
7. A forklift licence would be an advantage, but not essential.
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 7am - 4pm
Friday: 7am - 1pm
