An exciting developing manufacturer, based in Ipswich, is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead their function in developing new machinery.
You will be joining a young business, full of drive, enthusiasm, and opportunity. With a team of 6 engineers, with long service, you will be in a settled team in a role that offers variety in a fast-paced industry.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Principal electrical designer on project.
2. Design of safety systems.
3. Detailed design of electrical cabinets.
4. Responsible for originating all electrical drawings.
5. Responsible for originating all pneumatics drawings.
6. Support the build of electrical cabinets.
7. Actively participate in build and run up testing of machines.
8. Support build and commissioning teams with electrical fault diagnosis.
9. Assist controls engineer on commissioning activities.
10. Responsible for electrical safety, electrical risk assessments and standards compliance.
11. Origination of electrical BOMS.
Skills & Qualifications:
1. Electrical or mechatronic qualification, minimum foundation degree, HNC, HND or degree in an applicable discipline.
2. SolidWorks electrical experience advantageous.
3. Minimum 5 years experience in designing electrical systems for machines from scratch.
4. Understanding of UKCA / CE marking PUWER and machine certification.
5. Knowledge of different motor drive technologies such as servo, dc, Stepper and AC motors.
6. IOSH or equivalent health and safety certification advantageous.
7. PUWER accreditation / understanding advantageous.
8. Good general computer skills.
9. Strong cause-effect analytical abilities.
10. Excellent communication skills.
Working Hours & Locations:
9am-5pm however may be required to work additional hours on occasion. Occasional travel may be required.
Salary: £40k-60k subject to experience (negotiable)
Benefits on offer:
1. Pension Contribution equal to 5% of your Base Salary. You expressed a wish to opt out of this benefit, which you can do by completing a simple Pension Opt Out Form.
2. Holiday Entitlement: 25 Days plus Public Holidays (or a pro-rata number of days) per Annum.
3. You will be able to participate in the Company's Bonus Scheme.
4. Death in Service insurance: 4x Base Salary.
