Estimator job in Bristol The Company: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join my client, a housebuilder that creates homes for you, never just houses for people. Key Responsibilities: - Producing cost assessments for new land bids including house build costs assessments, infrastructure costs assessments, foundations and plot development costs assessments, build prelims costs assessments and sales prelims costs assessments - Producing detailed viabilities for successful land bids to ensure that land purchases meet group and divisional profit requirements. This will be by producing detailed cost plans of the above elements following detailed design. - Preparation of the Commercial report summarising viability allowances in conjunction with the land viability. - Budget breakdown for the site Quantity Surveyor upon successful completion of the site purchase. Cash flow forecasts for land purchases. - Assessing current build costs and strategies and ensuring that these are reflected in your cost estimates. - Engaging with sub-contractors, consultants and suppliers where necessary to assist in preparing costs. Especially where required for specialist elements of work. In order to be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate a proven track record as an Estimator. Ideally, this will be with a housebuilder. You will work closely with the in house Land, Engineering, Planning, Design, Commercial, Construction, Sales & Finance staff. As such, you should be a team player and committed towards achieving the goal of successful land acquisitions. You should be able to demonstrate a strong commercial awareness and be able to assist in identifying potential cost savings within design to enhance profitability as well as identifying areas of significant cost risk.
