Job Description: Management Accountant

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Management Accountant to oversee and manage the financial operations of our nursing homes.
The Management Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, overseeing accounts payable/receivable, preparing financial reports, and supporting the overall financial health of the business.
This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for our group of nursing homes.
* Record and reconcile all transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and relevant healthcare regulations.
* Oversee payroll processing for employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
* Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
* Review and approve invoices from suppliers, service providers, and contractors.
* Monitor patient billing processes and resolve billing discrepancies, working with the home staff as needed.
* Liaise with senior management and other departments to provide financial insights and recommendations.
* Assist in financial planning and decision-making by providing regular updates and reports on financial performance.
Staff Supervision:
* Supervise accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed to ensure efficient workflow and accuracy.
* Conduct performance evaluations and help foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
* 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in healthcare or nursing home settings.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, healthcare billing, and financial regulations.
* Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
* Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with staff, clients, and regulatory bodies.
Working Conditions:
* Full-time position with standard office hours, with occasional overtime as needed during peak periods or to meet reporting deadlines.
* Collaborative work environment within the healthcare sector.
*Please note, this is a full time role based in our Cosby, Leicester office - There is no remote working option.
