Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee and manage cloud, on premise and in-store infrastructure changes that will support and underpin a high profile and transformative POS replacement project across all countries in which Primark trades.
Reporting to the Programme Manager, the ideal candidate will have a very strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to drive quality results from a team of highly skilled IT professionals and Partner organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Primark’s Technology infrastructure to support ongoing and future Technology projects.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure infrastructure changes align with project requirements and meet challenging delivery timelines.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to infrastructure changes and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on projects.
• Budget Management: Manage the budget for infrastructure changes, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial constraints.
• Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and service providers to procure necessary hardware, software, and services.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the performance of Technology infrastructure, implementing improvements as needed to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure changes, configurations, and procedures.
• Compliance: Ensure all infrastructure changes comply with relevant regulations, Primark architectural standards, and best practices.
• Collaborative Delivery: Schedule meetings and lead conversation between Architecture, Operations and Primark’s Vendors and Technology Partners
• Design Standards: Ensure Architects produce high quality design artefacts, on time, to meet project timelines and ensure right first time delivery.
• Work scheduling: Taking design instructions from the architecture team, raise engineering requests and ensure timely delivery of work packages in conjunction with specialist internal and external Engineering teams
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and leading technical teams.
• Strong understanding of network architecture, server management, and cloud technologies.
• Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CISSP) are a plus.
The Infrastructure Project Delivery Manager best suited for this role will have in-depth experience in managing large-scale IT projects within a retail environment and with POS systems.
