About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Media Studies lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, including GCSE and A-Level Media Studies. Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of media forms, theories, and production techniques, encouraging students to develop their media knowledge, understanding, and skills. Facilitate student-led media projects, analyses, and presentations, encouraging media inquiry, analysis, and communication skills. Assess student progress through written analyses, media productions, and examinations, providing detailed and constructive feedback. Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Media Studies curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current media trends and best practices in media education. Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as film clubs, media production workshops, and participation in media competitions, to enhance student learning and provide opportunities for students to explore their interests. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in Media Studies, Film Studies, or a related field. Extensive experience teaching Media Studies to GCSE and A-Level, with a focus on both theoretical and practical aspects of the subject. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and creative skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. A passion for fostering media literacy and creative production skills in young people. Knowledge of a wide range of media forms, theories, and production techniques. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
