We're expanding the Application Engineering Team to support customized solutions for high density in EMEA. We're looking for an Electrical Application Engineer - High Density who will focus on the end-to-end infrastructure solution design in London, United Kingdom!
You'll join an unique Team within the Application Engineering, Thermal Management EMEA group that provides support to AE colleagues and Sales on customized projects and solutions.
Main duties
* Review RFQs and identify customer requirements/specifications
* Power and Mechanical design
* Evaluate the best trade-off solution according to customer needs, budget, efficiency and project timeframes
* Development of technically and price competitive high density infrastructure solutions
* Provide Sales with pre-sales technical support when building proposals, quotes and tenders
* Create and review application based documentation (drawings, specifications, electrical layout, presentations) enabling AE colleagues and Sales to secure the business
* Integration, coordination and support the internal pre-sales, project management and/or external suppliers
* Interact with Engineering and Manufacturing when needed.
* Share ideas and detailed design proposals providing feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams for product improvement/development by applying a continuous improvement mindset.
* Provide application based training to the EMEA AE community and Sales to strengthen the know-how across the Vertiv's group
Job Requirements – Qualifications and work experience
* School Background: engineering background or equivalent education with proven field experience
* Solid professional experience within electrical infrastructure design, matured within the Data Center industry or in adjacent markets
* Excellent know-how of Data Center power infrastructure components, from power grid to rack PDUs, including UPS technology and switchgears among others.
* Excellent know-how of Uptime Institute Tiers levels and related power infrastructure design.
* Excellent Electrical Cad Software skills.

Basic Skills
* Language skills: fluent English written and verbal required
* Excellent IT skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and Customer/Sales orientation
* Skills with Simulink Simscape Electrical
Nice to have
* Previous experience on High Density applications
* Strong interest in High Density applications and IT related components, like GPUs, CPUs and liquid cooled servers.
