Overview of the Role To develop new flavour/industry knowledge through flavour analysis Assist in analytical flavour support for Europe and Asia Assist in analytical flavour support for the dairy R&D team Objectives, Roles and Responsibilities To provide support for the analytical flavour research team by carrying out in-depth flavour analysis of sweet, dairy and bakery products in order to support flavour creation and process development To develop appropriate methodologies to support the flavour analysis of various types of foods and beverages To provide analytical data that can be easily interpreted by the flavour team so facilitating flavour creation Responsibility to form strong R&D network with other innovation teams, including sensory science, flavour creation and applications Assist in flavour R&D projects that are aligned to the business strategy Interpret and correlate data through collaboration with product development and sensory science Execute experimental plans to validate hypotheses relating to flavour formation and loss in finished foods such as baked goods and beverages Through the use of flavour analysis generate insights that support the proactive and reactive needs of the business Play a pivotal role in generating flavour knowledge in order to drive new innovation Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill and Experience ( Required to perform the job ) Essential A BSc or MSc in a science discipline and preferably familiar with techniques such a gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS), gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography olfactometry (GC/O) Demonstrated ability to work in a structured and diligent manner with a high degree of precision and the energy to deliver projects on time and to a consistently high standard To be able to work in cross functional multi-site teams.
