Venue General Manager – Visitor Destination

Salary: £45,000 + Paid Overtime
5 days over 7 including weekends (mainly day shifts, minimal late evenings)

The Role
We’re looking for a Venue General Manager to lead the opening and ongoing success of a brand-new restaurant and event space in a unique visitor location. You’ll be the driving force behind the venue, ensuring smooth operations, exceptional guest experiences, and a thriving team.
The Venue General Manager will take full ownership of a dynamic food and retail operation within a visitor destination. You will oversee the retail outlets, Café & Restaurant and Events space ensuring they are an integral part of the visitor experience. Your role will involve leading a high-performing team, driving business growth, and maintaining exceptional standards of service.
You will also play a key role in marketing, merchandising, and innovation, ensuring the venue remains fresh, engaging, and profitable.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily operations across multiple food and retail outlets
* Lead and develop a motivated, high-performing team
* Manage service, bookings, guest experience, and events
* Ensure strong financial performance through budgeting and cost control
* Work closely with the Head Chef to enhance food and beverage offerings
* Drive sales and innovation through marketing, merchandising, and new product lines
* Uphold high standards of cleanliness, compliance, and visitor engagement
What We’re Looking For
* Multi-outlets / Venue management experience in food, beverage, and food retail settings
* Strong high-street retail knowledge and experience in high-volume environments
* A motivational leader who inspires and develops their team
* Commercial acumen with a passion for sales, upselling, and customer engagement
* Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to build strong relationships
* Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive profitability
