Macildowie Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics Senior Buyer - Up to £45,000 Per Annum - Bedford Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm - Permanent Macildowie Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics has exclusively partnered with a manufacturing organisation based in Bedford to recruit a Senior Buyer to join a thriving and fast paced purchasing department.The key objectives will be to lead on global sourcing duties including collaborating with new suppliers and on-boarding as well as delivering supplier cost savings for the business. Main Responsibilities Support and resolve queries via telephone and email received via the procurement telephone line, providing excellent customer service both internally and externally. Mitigate risk in the supply chain though dual sourcing, buffer stock agreements and identifying alternative solutions Lead and manage the end-to-end sourcing process for key materials and services used in manufacturing. Develop and execute a strategic procurement plan to ensure the supply of high-quality materials at the best possible cost. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure that deliveries are reaching customers on time. Prepare and issue RFQ requests, and compare MOQ, payment terms, freight conditions prices to reduce production costs. Analyse product purchases, profitability, and supplier performance, providing benchmarking insights against market and company trends. Negotiate and agree on supplier commercial terms including lead times, auditing and rebates. Identify and propose new product opportunities within the categories. Maintain accurate procurement records and delivering supplier and inventory reports for stakeholders. Review stock and supplier forecasts to anticipate future business requirements. Develop and implement collaborative plans with suppliers to meet business objectives. The Candidate Previous experience operating in Buyer/Senior Buyer positions or similar. CIPS accreditation or working towards. Proficient user of Microsoft Office including Excel. Able to travel to Bedford Excellent communication skills. Proficient user of Microsoft Office including Excel. Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders. Comfortable in procurement software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel for data analysis. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain, and inventory management.
