A Senior Legal Assistant is required to assist the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Lawyer in the Sefton Legal Services Department. The successful applicant will have relevant legal qualifications and/or experience in a legal team dealing with Education and/or Special Educational Needs. The post holder will assist the SEN Lawyer with a range of Educational Special Educational Needs matters and cases before the SEND Tribunal. This will include, but is not limited to, drafting orders, letters of instructions to counsel, and general case management of SEND cases. The post holder will also be expected to use Sefton Legal Service’s case management system to create bundles and redact documents for filing in proceedings.
