Associate FCERM Manager (Water)

Our clients Sustainable Water Management business are currently seeking an Associate for their ever growing Flood Risk and Water Management Team in Sheffield. This interesting and challenging environmental role will involve leading teams and your own work packages, coordinating with others across the UK and contributing to multi-disciplinary project delivery. This role is primarily assisting the Directors managing the business, including delivering successful bids for medium to large projects, provide high level client interface and manage/direct projects for the Environment Agency and other key clients across the UK.
Their specialists and Engineers offer a comprehensive range of services to Flood Risk Management Authorities, transport agencies, local authorities, utilities, wildlife trusts and developers covering all aspects of project delivery from concept, through appraisal to detailed design, planning application and construction management support.
Your role will include managing FCERM teams, supporting their development, work allocation and wellbeing and the delivery of projects (technical or management) with accountability for task/project cost, quality and programme. You will be writing and reviewing technical reports / deliverables ensuring quality assurance and business compliance processes are followed and success will be demonstrated in terms of the technical quality of team deliverables, meeting client and stakeholder requirements, whilst understanding and working within financial and programme requirements.
For this role you will need strong previous experience and skills in specific relevant disciplines, such as flood risk analysis, flood alleviation appraisal or/and design, sustainable drainage systems, nature-based solutions, highway discharge assessment, CAR licensing, hydrogeology, hydrology, water quality, fluvial geomorphology, site environmental management, peat surveys, peat stability, peat management, geology and pollution prevention.
To succeed in this role, you will possess a BEng/MEng or MSc in a related Flood Risk or Engineering field with significant experience in Coastal processes and technical solutions, Economic analysis, including cost/benefit analysis; Outcome Measure; damages etc, Public and stakeholder engagement, design of flood defences and Water Framework Directives;.
You will be Chartered with the relevant institution, have strong people and team management skills with experience of mentoring and developing teams, a sound Project Management/Project Direction skills, with proven track record and also strong bidding experience, with proven track record. Experience in successfully managing the delivery of strategies; appraisals and business cases for the RMAs or/and asset owners would also be beneficial.
