Job overview
As an Assistant Rota Co-ordinator you will be responsible for supporting the Rota Co-ordinators to provide a comprehensive, high quality and effective service in the delivery of junior doctor rota co-ordination, ensuring minimum staffing is maintained at all times.
You will also be responsible for securing and booking bank and agency doctors at the appropriate rates.
Main duties of the job
The key responsibilities of this role will include carrying out any tasks relating to the resourcing of Medical Staff for designated specialties, ensuring an efficient process is followed to run an effective Medical Service 24/7, and minimise spend on locums whilst ensuring safe staffing.
The post holder will provide an efficient and high-quality rostering data administration service to their designated Rota Co-ordinators, supporting the use and maintenance of systems, data and information and ensuring robust data cleanse processes are carried out regularly.
Managing the Rotateam inbox on behalf of the wider team.
Act as authorised signatory for finalising bank shifts on the Roster system, cross checking rosters/Rota’s for accuracy and be responsible for processing claim forms for Senior Clinicians.
To provide cover to the Band 5 Rota Co-ordinators ensuring their rota’s / rosters are kept up to date in their absence.

Qualifications
* BTEC/NVQ3 or equivalent qualification and or equivalent relevant experience
* Experience of managing rota’s
* Experience of working with eRostering platforms providing an e-rostering service
* Experience of working in different parts of the healthcare system
* Experience of other workforce systems such as ESR, Payroll
* Knowledge of WTD in relation to junior doctors and the new junior doctor contract
Skills & Attributes
* Able to self-organise, effectively prioritising own workload
* Analytical skills, numeracy and literacy. Ability to analyse data and formulate reports. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
* Able to develop effective working partnership within and beyond the employing organisation
* Experience of medical rota co-ordination
