Motor Vehicle Technician (HGV)Location: Newcastle upon TyneSalary: £35,235 - £38,626 per annumThe RoleThe Council are seeking an experienced time served Heavy Goods Vehicle technician to take up a permanent position.City Transport maintains and repairs a diverse range of vehicles, plant and horticultural equipment as well as having two MOT stations, testing class 4,5 & 7 vehicles, licenced taxis and hackney carriages.You will join the team, primarily in their Heavy workshop at Newington Rd.They are looking for someone with the skills and experience to achieve the effective and efficient maintenance, diagnostics and repair of the councils plant, horticultural equipment & Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) fleet, including an understanding of VOSA standards enabling them to prepare & present LGVs for MOT.You will have served a recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering to NVQ level 3 or equivalent. A category B driving licence is essential.
