Financial Controller

Our client is an innovative Fintech company in the financial services sector, widely recognized for their cutting-edge CRM platform that powers market-leading products for both residential and B2B customers.
Due to continuous year-on-year growth, they are expanding their finance team and seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial processes, provide strategic advice, and contribute to the company's future success.
The Opportunity:
As the Financial Controller, you will work closely with the Managing Director and the CFO, overseeing group-level accounting activities for the business. You will play a critical role in redefining financial processes, managing reporting, and ensuring that financial operations run smoothly. This is a fully remote role, but applicants must reside within the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting: Complete the month-end process, reconciliations, variance analysis, and produce consolidated management accounts for the group.
* Accounting Oversight: Manage all financial reporting, tax, and audit requirements, including quarterly and annual accounts, transactions (accounts payable to receivable), and operational finance.
* Process Development: Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls across the group, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
* Accounts Receivable/Payable: Oversee the full cycle of accounts receivable and payable, from invoicing to receipt.
* Payroll & HMRC Compliance: Manage the payroll function to ensure timely and accurate processing, and take responsibility for HMRC submissions, including RTI, PAYE, quarterly tax instalments, and VAT returns.
* Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the CFO on finance improvement projects and assist with ad-hoc requirements, including identifying cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
* Degree-level education, ideally in Maths, Economics, or a related field.
* Proven ability to improve financial processes and internal controls.
* Strong understanding of operational requirements and the ability to translate them into financial metrics, targets, and budgets.
* Experience managing financial relationships and being involved in commercial negotiations.
* Advanced Excel skills and financial modelling/budgeting experience are highly desirable.
* A proactive approach to cost-saving and rationalisation initiatives.
