Hornby develops, manufactures, and supplies hobby and toy products for a global market, with a collection of truly iconic brands spanning model railways, slot racing, die-cast models with Corgi and plastic model kits with Airfix.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish insight function
* Identify and build a trusted ecosystem of research partners
* Identify business areas where insight can deliver the most value and impact
* Develop insight frameworks and KPIs that can be leveraged across brands and products
* Develop a short- and long-term insight strategy
Deliver insight to the business
* Manage research agency partners and their Quant and Qual outputs
* Own the overall research approach at both a local and global level
* Leverage existing data in the business to support insight work (e.g. sales, database, etc.)
* Analyse the Quant data and deep dive into the Qual providing recommendations to improve the products and experience, and make ongoing recommendations for changes to both programs
* Manage ad-hoc research programs
* Leverage existing internal and external data sources to increase knowledge of competitors, brands, audiences etc.
* Create impactful and actionable recommendations based on insight, suitable for various audiences within the business (from c suite to brand and marketing to product teams)
Champion the voice of consumer
* Professionalise ways of working across the business, ensuring decisions are data and insight led through action planning
* Develop strategies to bring consumer centricity to life throughout the business
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
* The candidate will have ideally 10 yrs + years blue-chip research and insight experience.
* We are looking for a proven track record gained in a customer-focused environments such as consumer goods, retail or consumer manufacturing, and an understanding of the dynamics of brand building. Ideally, the candidate will have tangible experience of multi-brand, multi-channel businesses.
* Hobbies, toys and games experience is preferable, but evidence of working on brands that have evolved, reinvented or reimagined themselves will also be beneficial. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a track record of creating customer driven insights that have changed perception or opened new channels and cohorts.
* The candidate must possess a data-led approach, that has used customer insight to develop strong, long term, value-adding relationships with customer.
