Priory Group offers services to the private sector as well as to the NHS. Private services are provided by Visiting Consultants. These consultants are not employed by the Priory Group but have practising privileges and as such are entitled to see outpatients on Priory premises and to admit their patients, under their care to Priory private beds. Priory Group has large multidisciplinary teams who are able to provide evidence-based therapies recommended to these private service users, without long waiting lists for the treatment they require. Additionally, Priory has excellent governance processes and ensures a good, safe quality service.
You will be required to provide support and advise nursing staff and hospital management on clinical issues. The role holder will be working in close liaison with other consultant teams and services within the Division as well as having continuing responsibility for the care of patients. You will have an excellent knowledge of Clinical Governance and regulatory requirements and will be qualified with full registration with GMC, as well as having experience working in a substance misuse setting and within a multidisciplinary team.

The role of a visiting consultant offers you the opportunity to build a private outpatient practice, alongside a private inpatient practice. At present we are particularly looking for both acute and addictions consultants. You will be expected to adhere to Priory Group standards and policies throughout your practice.

Priory Hospital Barnt Green is located in the stunning Lickey Hills Country Park, 10 miles south of Birmingham City Centre. We have thirty-three beds across three wards including a ten bedded female NHS Psychiatric Intensive Care, a thirteen bedded mixed gender NHS acute service, and a bedded private acute ward beds for both men and women. In addition to providing inpatient services, the hospital has a large Outpatient department and regional conference facilities.
The hospital opened in March 2022 and this is a fantastic opportunity to join a new and developing team, in a brand new hospital located in a beautiful setting.
