Manpower are recruiting for an experienced Senior Production Operator in Edinburgh to join our clients business following the investment into a new state of the art MTE Milling Machine. This is a permanent role.
As a Senior Production Operator, you will be responsible for the setting up, operating, and adjusting all machines and equipment in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting. You will perform machining operations on CNC milling machines and manual machines when required using standard work documents, blueprints, safe job procedures, and visual aids within task time. You will be responsible for problem solving and escalation needed to meet customer order and business requirements.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Setting and operating CNC Milling Machines
2. Operating Semi-Automatic Bandsaw, CNC Drill, Hydraulic Press & 3 Axis Milling Machines
3. Planning, programming, and inspection of products
4. Producing products to key specifications
5. Operating different types of machinery on the shop floor
6. Multitasking and producing components to a high quality/standard
7. Providing assistance to the engineering team with appropriate feedback
8. Carrying out Essential Maintenance work and cleaning work within the required timeframe
9. Identifying faults, determining the cause, and readjusting the equipment/process
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge/skill/ability required to perform the essential functions of the job:
1. 3+ years' experience as a CNC Machinist desirable
2. Preferable to be trade qualified and have experience with CNC programming and machines
3. Experience with Siemens SINUMERIK ONE or Siemens 840 D sl (Highly desirable)
4. Understanding of Heidenhain control systems
5. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to the instructions
6. Ability to use measuring instruments
7. Experience with Heavy component machining (Highly desirable)
8. Meet daily/weekly/monthly production targets
9. Ability to diligently follow Health & Safety measures as this role is in a Safety Critical environment
10. Must be a self-starter, diligent, punctual and demonstrate strong initiative
11. A keen eye for process optimisation and Continuous Improvement activities
12. Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
13. Forklift, Side loader & Overhead Crane training and certification will be provided
14. All key discipline areas will require training and competence as part of the progression program
What our client offers
1. Base Salary: up to £34,000.00 per annum (dependant on experience)
2. Core Hours: between 37hrs & 40hrs per week, shift pattern dependant
3. Ability to Work up to 3-Shift Working Patterns as various patterns could be in operation
4. Enhanced Rates of Pay for Shift working & Overtime/Sat & Sun Rates
