Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Opportunity in Wilmslow
Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to support an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow. This full-time position begins in December and runs through the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance. Weekly pay is between £419.25 and £500.
Role Overview:
As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students to enhance their understanding of mathematical concepts, providing targeted support and guidance in both one-to-one and group settings. This role is ideal for a recent maths graduate eager to gain hands-on classroom experience, develop teaching skills, and make a positive impact on students’ academic achievements.
Key Responsibilities:
* In-Class Support: Assist the lead maths teacher by helping students grasp complex topics, particularly those who may need additional encouragement and tailored explanations.
* One-to-One and Small Group Tutoring: Work with students on a more focused basis, offering extra guidance on challenging topics and helping to reinforce their confidence in maths.
* Curriculum Assistance: Help adapt lessons and teaching materials to suit students’ varying levels of understanding, making maths accessible and engaging for all.
* Exam Preparation: Provide support in preparing students for their exams by focusing on core topics, revision techniques, and problem-solving strategies to boost their confidence.
* Progress Monitoring: Track individual progress, recording both improvements and areas needing further support, and relay these findings to the classroom teacher to inform planning.
* Encourage Independent Learning: Foster a positive learning environment by helping students build their own study habits, working towards achieving long-term academic goals.
* Classroom Management: Support the lead teacher in managing classroom dynamics, ensuring a productive and respectful atmosphere conducive to learning.
* Mathematics Club or Workshops: Participate in or assist with extracurricular math-related activities, helping to inspire interest in mathematics and encourage students to apply their skills.
