Morgan McKinely are delighted to be supporting a PE backed business in Bristol looking for an Indirect Tax Manager. This newly created position will report to the Group Tax Manager and has scope to develop and grow over time.
Responsibilities for this role will include:
Ownership of all indirect tax compliance and filing requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including:
Managing VAT returns for multiple entities, including complex areas such as partial exemption calculations.
Overseeing compliance with international VAT obligations, including regions like the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, and the Philippines.
Ensuring compliance with USA State Sales Tax, including Nexus monitoring and filing requirements.
Scaling indirect tax processes to accommodate business expansion into new markets.
Reviewing contracts, products, and revenue streams to ensure accurate tax treatment and maintaining documentation to support compliance.
Leading and managing indirect tax audits and inquiries, including direct interaction with tax authorities and external advisors.
Conducting VAT health checks to ensure consistent compliance across all entities.
Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to align tax strategies with business objectives.
Acting as an internal advisor to assess indirect tax implications of new business initiatives, geographic expansions, and commercial strategies.
Providing tax expertise to support M&A due diligence and integration of newly acquired entities.
Supporting the development and implementation of governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms for compliance with regimes like SAO, BRR, and CCO.
Reviewing VAT cash flow forecasts for accuracy and reliability.
Managing and monitoring indirect tax balance sheet accounts.
Staying updated on changes in indirect tax legislation and implementing necessary adjustments to ensure ongoing compliance.The ideal candidate:
Previous experience with a Tax role
CTA or ACA qualified
Experience of European VAT and American sales tax
Ability to work with a variety of internal stakeholders The package:
Salary dependent on experience - £50,000 - £60,000
