Responsible to: Location Pastor (GS Longbridge) Background: Gas Street is a dynamic and diverse church based right in the heart of the city of Birmingham. We are a church that wants to be light in our city, wanting to show God’s love in a tangible way across Birmingham. The aim of our staff team is to serve the wider community and provide resources for mission and ministry of the church. Gas Street Longbridge launched in February 2024. This is our fourth location, as we continue to be Light for the City. Longbridge is an area packed with opportunity and potential with several local schools in the area and 100s of new homes being built. Our hope is that we can play our part and see a community transformed. This role will operate as part of the Gas Street staff team and, as well as attending meetings in Gas Street Central Location, will be based primarily at the Longbridge location. Key Objectives: The GS Longbridge Worship Pastor role’s main objectives are to assist and bring leadership alongside the Lead Worship Pastor, helping to run, co-ordinate and pastor the worship team at GS Longbridge. They will be primarily based at GSL on Sundays but will be part of the overall GS worship dept. Key areas of responsibility: Leading worship regularly Holding band rotas for Sundays at GSL and any other mid-week groups or events at GSL Assist in hosting team meetings Build the team; recruiting and integrating new team members Instilling GS culture and pastoring the team Lead intergenerational worship Contribute to wider discussion and direction on worship Liaising with production around events General worship dept administration (CCLI reports, updating databases, bills etc) Updating Planning Centre (new songs, chord charts etc) Person Specification: Passionate about worship Has a vision for worship Excellent worship leader Strong interpersonal skills Trustworthy with confidential information Strong organisational skills and decision making abilities Pro-active and self-motivated Ability to work well under pressure Ability to adapt to changing circumstances Teachable - open to feedback A personal walk with Jesus underpinning a lifestyle of integrity There is a genuine occupational requirement that the post-holder be a practicing Christian This role will require an enhanced DBS Working requirements: Part-time, permanent role (11.25 hours per week) 25 days annual leave (pro rata) statutory bank holidays three additional days at Christmas two retreat days across the year (one per term) Attend Gas Street Church Attend weekly staff meetings Evening and weekend flexibility as required Unpaid leave as agreed with HR Applications close: Sunday 8 December 11.55pm Interview date: Thursday 12 December The PCC of St Luke's is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
