About the Role As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will assist the Ward Manager in overseeing the smooth operation of either a Male Acute Ward (12 beds) or Mixed Acute Ward (10 beds), supporting patients with a range of mental health conditions, including psychosis, depression, and personality disorders. Your role will involve clinical leadership, staff mentorship, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Key Responsibilities Act as a visible role model and mentor to nursing and healthcare staff. Ensure the highest standards of nursing care within the ward. Assist in the management and development of the nursing team. Support patient recovery journeys through effective treatment planning. Oversee the ward environment and ensure it remains safe and therapeutic. Report effectively to senior management. What We’re Looking For Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN/RNLD) with active NMC registration. At least 2 years of post-qualification clinical experience. Experience in inpatient mental health settings (acute experience preferred). Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-management skills. A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to care.
