This role is fixed term for 9 months We have a great opportunity for a Design Technician to join Domestic Connections team at Electricity North West. Our role As a Design Technician you will act as designer for all low voltage electricity connections related projects on Electricity North West s distribution system. To give you an idea of how this role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do: The design, valuation, quoting and management of LVSSA and Single/Three Phase service alterations, low voltage statutory connections inclusive of new connections, additional load requests, service alterations and associated diversion and reinforcement work. Responsible for ensuring all new connections related infrastructure is designed in accordance with current Electricity North West licence conditions, policy and standards. Accountable for ensuring that all customers receive first class customer service when dealing with ENW by taking a proactive approach to customer service. Accountable for the timely management of customer complaints and supporting lead planner and manager with more complex complaints. Accountable for meeting the requirements of guaranteed standards of performance targets (GSOP) and licence condition15 standards for the provision of non contestable connection services. Developing lowest cost design solutions in accordance with the common connections charging methodology whilst maintaining Electricity North West policy and standards of compliance. Responsible for inputting data for Ofgem reporting purposes and providing accurate forecasts of information for the range of projects under their control. Also depending upon skills, knowledge and experience may be responsible for approving other Engineers work and also the supervision, training and mentoring of trainee/graduate engineers. Carry out site ready inspections where required What we re looking for To apply for this Design Technician role, you will have excellent customer service skills and be able to deliver a 10/10 level of service at all times. You will also require the following: Demonstrate a good understanding of low voltage network design. Have experience with electrical engineering design and practices and understand the electricity distribution business. Demonstrate an understanding of Construction Design Management regulations relating to domestic projects. Be self driven and have the ability to work under pressure to meet relevant business/regulatory targets. Understand the construction industry and the particular role Electricity North West undertakes. Demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness. Be flexible and adaptable in their approach Have good team working and interpersonal skills. Have excellent IT skills and demonstrate good analytical reasoning. Have excellent communication skills and be well organised. Demonstrate a pragmatic problem solving approach.
