Lead audit teams in conducting management system and compliance audits for Company offices, facilities, and installations worldwide. Assist in the audit planning process; liaise with stakeholders; manage the onsite audit process; manage, guide, and support audit team members in the performance of their assignments; compile and analyze audit evidence; make professional judgments regarding that evidence; prepare and maintain accurate, clear, and thorough records on audit findings and observations; and serve as the primary onsite point-of-contact for audits. Extensive travel to Company locations worldwide is required. The HSE Auditor will also participate in other departmental and company initiatives as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum undergraduate degree in a technical discipline
2. Minimum seven years of MODU industry experience with three years in an auditing/compliance assessment role
3. Documented formal training in auditing principles from an industry recognized training provider
4. Professional auditor (BEAC, ISO, etc.) and/or HSE (ASP, CSP, NEBOSH) certification strongly desired
5. Demonstrated ability to conduct audits using established audit principles to evaluate compliance with prescribed standards
6. Valid offshore survival and medical certificates
7. Working knowledge of various worldwide regulatory regimes and requirements including, but not limited to: United States Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE); the United Kingdom’s Health & Safety Executive (HSE); and the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA)
8. Working knowledge of various international codes and standards including, but not limited to: International Safety Management Code (ISM); International Ship and Port Security Code (ISPS); International Organization for Standardization standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 19011; Occupational Health & Safety Advisory Services standard OHSAS 18001; and American Petroleum Institute API-RP75 SEMP for Offshore Operations
9. Demonstrated leadership and team work skills including dealing with conflict and maintaining work flows to achieve audit objectives
10. Proficient in management systems and compliance auditing principles as outlined in ISO 19011
11. Ability to overcome obstacles and barriers to ensure timely execution of audits
12. Effective at managing, guiding, and supporting audit teams
13. Knowledge of different types of MODU’s and IMO vessel classifications
14. Knowledge of standards and practices related to offshore drillings rigs (API, IADC, etc.)
15. Proficiency in the development of audit tools (protocols and checklists, etc.)
16. Adept at working in a culturally diverse environment
17. Excellent formal reporting and technical writing skills
18. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, and analytical skills
19. Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently
20. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of SAP
21. Travel is an essential job function (approximately 15-20%, domestic, international, & offshore)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
22. Lead audit teams in the performance of HSE management system and compliance audits
23. Provide support to the Corporate HSE Audit Manager in the development and execution of HSE audit plans
24. Maintain a working knowledge and general understanding of HSE regulations and requirements for the jurisdictions within which the company operates
25. Compile and maintaining audit records
26. Report audit results to the Corporate HSE Audit Manager
27. Contribute to and support corporate HSE compliance efforts
28. Interact with personnel throughout the Company conveying the department’s guiding principles of integrity, objectivity, innovation, excellence, and teamwork
29. Assist with special projects as needed
