Job summary
Assisting in the provision of a high quality, efficient and cost-effective procurement function that meets the requirements of the Ashford and St Peters NHS Foundation Trust's overall strategic direction and corporate objectives and complies with SFI's and relevant procurement legislation and guidance.
To contribute to the delivery of the Supply Chain and Logistics function at Ashford and St Peters hospitals as follows:
Receive deliveries from suppliers; to check deliveries against the purchase order details, sign for and receipt goods on the system
Ensure non-stock deliveries are placed in a designated area ready for collection by the Logistics Representative for delivery to the user department.
Assist with keeping the Receipts and Despatch areas tidy and organised
Assist the Logistics Representatives with the movement and collection of packages/pallets/tote bins/roll cages to/from user departments
Main duties of the job
Sort & deliver the roll cages, tote bins/pallets from NHS Supply Chain into delivery areas
Deliver all non-stock goods to delivery locations including medical consumables/printing/ stationery/hotel services consumables/furniture (beds/desks/chairs/fridges)/computer equipment/medical equipment
Ensure that a signature of receipt is obtained for all non-stock items delivered
Collection daily of empty roll cages/tote bins, cages are to be collapsed and returned to the agreed area
Collection daily of any 'returns' (goods) for both NHS Supply Chain or any other suppliers and take back to the Receipts and Despatch Area
Assist in the receipt of non stock goods delivered by suppliers - check delivery note for accuracy, check outside of parcels for any damage, sign for contents (goods)
Assist in checking the contents (goods) against the computerised order and delivery note and enter the details onto the Trust's computerised 'E' Procurement system
Create the 'Goods Receipt Note' via the computerised system and attach to the goods

Liaise with delivery drivers regarding any queries raised at the time of delivery
Redirect delivery drivers to other delivery areas within the Trust
Liaise with medical/administration staff who have any queries regarding their delivery
Assist with any telephone queries regarding deliveries
Direct patients to the correct appointment area
Deputise in the absence of the R&D Supervisor
To have responsibility for Health, Safety and Welfare of self and others and comply at all times with the requirements of Health and Safety Regulations
Attend mandatory training, ie manual handling, fire
To be smart in appearance and dressed in appropriate uniform
ID Badge to be worn at all times
To work across site if required
